DESCRIPTION:Time: 8:30am to 5:00pm \nWhere: West Lodge at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation \nLeadership is a vital part of the Scouting program. Youth in positions of leadership run the troop.\nThey take care of the many tasks necessary for troop and patrol meetings and activities to run\nsmoothly. By accepting the responsibilities of troop leadership\, Scouts are preparing themselves\nto be leaders throughout their lives. \nThe purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) course is to teach Scouts\nwith leadership positions about their new roles and the organizational and leadership skills needed\nto most effectively reach success in that role. \nUpdated 8/11/26

DESCRIPTION:Rifle Merit Badge Make-Up Day \nWhere: Treasure Valley  – Rifle Range \nCost – $5.00 \nThis rifle merit badge make-up session is intended only for Scouts who participated in Rifle Shooting Merit Badge at Camp Wanocksett or Treasure Valley summer camp and need to complete unfinished requirements. \nScouts will have the opportunity to finish outstanding requirements\, receive instruction from qualified merit badge counselors\, and complete any remaining range qualification requirements as allowed. \nThis is an open make-up session from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM — come anytime during the event to complete your remaining requirements. \nPlease bring: \n\nYour blue card or merit badge record or scoutbook plus print out of requirements needed.\nEye and ear protection (if you have your own)\nWeather-appropriate clothing\n\nSpace is limited to 40 participants. DESCRIPTION:Where: Treasure Valley Scout Reservation \nCost: $35 \nThis hands-on program gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a Scout-led troop by teaching many of the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out- of-doors. In addition\, the teaching methods\, activities\, and games model the variety of teaching used in effective and engaging Scouting programs. \nHands-on participation is the best learning tool\, and this course models the techniques used by effective Scoutmasters\, advisors\, and other leaders in the Scouting program. \nAttendees will see and experience different aspects of how Scouting works while playing the role of Scouts in a troop. \nParticipants should leave the training experience with a full understanding of how the patrol method operates\, a feeling of comfort in working with and instructing their Scouts\, and an increased level of confidence taking Scouts outdoors safely.
